Board Game Project
For this project I worked in a group of three to create a board game that could help third graders go over math. We had to create a board game from scratch and create a circuit that could have lights and a spinner. What I contributed to the project was creating the design for our board, making the rules, coming up with the circuit design, made the circuit, soldering it together, and helped with our design of our question card.
Desmos Art Project
For this project I worked by myself to create art out of equations. To do this we used desmos and made different equations that made lines, circles, and parabolas to draw out a character of our choosing. To do this we learned all these equations and how to move the lines, how to change the shape of the circle and more like that.I really enjoyed this project because I liked the freedom of what we could draw and I liked how that determined how hard the project was.

Spanish Audio Book
This is an assignment where I chose a Spanish county to research and I would write an audio book on the country. I would write about popular food, traditions, and more about the county.

30 Day Challenge
For my 30 day challenge I a choosing to cut out candy and soda for 30 days. I chose this because as I get in the habit of working out more I need a good diet to supplement that and no better way then to cut out candy and soda. Even though it will have good outcomes it will be hard to stop eating gummy bears and drinking root bear. Also as I am growing up I have gained a big apatite and I am always hungry so I hope I find out a way to eat a lot without just grabbing some cookies and still complete the challenge. I hope that once I finish this challenge I will no longer drink soda and turn down my candy intake due to how unhealthy it is.
Afrofuturism Project
Mandalas Project
In this project we are making a mandala to learn geometric transformations. For this project we had to learn how to use compasses to make perfect shapes and angles to make it look professional. In the end we had to include 8 of the geometric transformation. Above you can see all of my mandala drafts that I experimented with to try and find what style I liked most. Once I did I traced that style onto a block of wood and painted it to make the color show well.
Angle Bisector- An angle bisector is a line that cuts through an angle. This is shown with the blue line cutting through the red angles
Line Bisector- I line bisector is a line that cuts through another line perpendicularly. This is shown with the green lines Perpendicular Lines- Perpendicular lines are lines that intersect like a +. This is shown with the green lines Octagon- An octagon is a shape with 8 sides as shown with the large pink shape Rotation- When a shape is moved around a shape in a constant circular motion while keeping its same shape is a rotation as shown with the black triangles Reflection- A reflection is when the shape looks the same across the axes and looks symmetrical. This is shown across either green line Translation- To translate a shape is to move it without changing the size or shape as shown with the black triangles Dilation- To dilate a shape is to change the size as shown with the white octagon growing into the pink one. |
Op-Ed Video Project
In this project we used the op eds we made a bit ago and got into groups of 4 to make them into videos. To start off this project we made our story board to track out how we want our video to play out. Once we planned it out we actually got to recording and putting it all together. Once we finished out first draft we got it critiqued by our classmates. This helped a lot because we got a lot of feedback. This included telling us we should change some recordings because someone was laughing and it changed the vibe of the vide, as well as our video not including enough evidence. In the end it all helped and we were able to improve our video a lot. This video helped a lot in teaching how I can use evidence to back up a point with solid claims. I am over all really proud of what I was able to do with this project and my participation. Overall I am really happy with how I was able to get things done before deadlines while getting a lot done in short times.
A Hero in my Eyes
For this project we looked into interviews of people and people of the year interviews that show why someone is important. We then did this on our own by interviewing someone important in our lives. We then wrote about how great they are with the quotes we got from the interview to show how great they are. My first draft was kinda lackey and just wasn't all that great. After critique though I went into a lot more detail and use more quotes to make my project great. Critiques helped a lot to give another view. Some things to me are just common knowledge, but other people don't know and let me know so I can include things to make info clear. This project helped a lot in figuring out how the members of my community shaped my identity. I always knew the effect my mom had on me but after interviewing her it really made it clear to me. What I am most proud of in this project is how it affected my mom. I did not tell her what this project was about until I finished it and it made her so happy to find out the meaning of this project and why I interviewed her.
Required Reading Book
For this project we did a deep dive into our privilege and picked a topic we wanted to teach about using our privilege. I chose to talk about homelessness in San Diego. I made 16 pages of talking about it and how people can help. Along with the book we also made clay sculptures to go along with our book. I chose to make someone in a sleeping bad and a dog to go with him. Homelessness has always been in my life whenever I go outside. It is very sad to see and there are a lot of ways to help that people don't know about. What I wanted to do with this project is show how people can help.
